His extensive background includes: Ownership of a plumbing company, commercial and industrial cabinet building facility, a multistate commercial heating company, and a green build construction firm. Specialization in high-performance modular construction with expertise in structural insulated panels (SIPs). Focused on market-rate multifamily workforce housing, Don has developed training programs for contractors and crews to enhance construction efficiency, streamline timelines, and control costs. Midwest Energy Design’s approach incorporates SIP modular technology, which provides significant tax and operational savings. This approach offers substantial cost-segregation benefits and enhanced tax advantages, particularly through Energy Star Credits and Energy Star Rebates.
